God Will Have the Last Word

God Will Have the Last Word

Someone sent me this scripture by instant message last week while I was alone on a 24 hour prayer vigil. Even though this scripture was written in one of the oldest books of the Bible, I think it is relevant to these days in which we find ourselves. It’s quite obvious that the Democratic Party is attempting a bloodless coup. May God be true to His word. I’ve taken this quote from The Complete Jewish Study Bible which I am…

A Strange Parallell

A Strange Parallell

Someone called my attention to a scripture the other day that had a familiar ring to it. I Kings, chapter 1 records what happened when King David was about to die. He had many sons, but one of them, Adonijah, decided he’d take the throne. There was just one problem. King David had promised the throne to Bathsheba’s son, Solomon. Adonijah invited Israel’s authorities and his brothers to a banquet to set himself up as king, but he left out…

Season’s Change

Season’s Change

In honor of the changing season I pulled these plants from the patio, tucked them in the basement under grow lights, and wrote this poem: Season’s Change October has come and gone. Time to bring plants in before freeze. Gone is the gentle south wind and warm summer breeze. Check the furnace and fireplace. Make sure they’re ready to go. Tune up the blower in preparation for snow. Pull dead plants from flowerbeds, winterize the hoses, rake leaves, sweep the…

Covid Crazy

Covid Crazy

Well, as we wind down this Covid 19 year with all the added stress of constant bombardments of political ads, impeachment attempts, and accusations of various kinds, I thought it might be fun to take a look at some of the more inventive ways people have decided to avoid the virus. The lady above made me laugh out loud when I saw this on someone’s Facebook page. Another took a milk carton and made it into a protective barrier. I…

Great Inspirational Book

Great Inspirational Book

I stumbled across a great book the other day by Anne Graham Lotz called The Daniel Prayer-Prayer that Moves Heaven and Changes Nations. She bases the book on Daniel 9 where Daniel prays a powerful prayer while the Jews were in Babylon near the end of their 70 year exile. The Jewish people had been hauled off there because of their continued sin of sacrificing their children to the god Molech. While Daniel was reading the Old Testament book of Jeremiah…

The Election and its Consequences

The Election and its Consequences

We find ourselves today in a time not unlike Israel in Jeremiah’s day. Although he preached the truth to them, they refused to hear. He said the people had ears but did not hear and had eyes that did not see (Jeremiah 5:21 and following). God had given Israel the land of Canaan (otherwise known as the Promised Land) to the Israelites because the former occupants, the Canaanites, sacrificed their children to Molech (also known as Baal). Now, the Israelites…

Giant Prayer Meeting

Giant Prayer Meeting

This past Friday night and Saturday Christians descended on Washington D.C. for prayer meetings similar to Washington for Jesus of 1980 and 1988. This one was labeled TheReturn.org led by Jewish/Christian believers in Jesus. Jonathan Cahn, author of The Harbinger, The Harbinger II and The Oracle was one of the organizers. There were additional groups led by James Dobson, Pat Robertson, and Franklin Graham. The attendees were guided in prayers of repentance so that we might see a revival in…

Covid Shortages

Covid Shortages

These past seven months we have discovered many things we took for granted in short supply during this Covid 19 episode. Toilet paper seemed to be the most obvious. That was until I started canning the produce from the garden. At first I though Wal-Mart hadn’t ordered enough lids–until I checked several different outlets to no avail. My son, Josh checked everywhere in the Kansas City area. Nothing. I then checked the never-fail Amazon.com. Every outlet said they were out…
