Easter Pies

Easter Pies

The day before Easter I finished the pies and sweet potatoes by noon; two cherry, one apple, one key lime, one pecan, and one pecan black bottom. Then the only thing to do on Sunday was to make mashed potatoes, heat the ham, and make rolls and relish dishes. Other guests brought the rest. Hope you had a great Resurrection Day!   My books are available at https://www.amazon.com/stores/Sally-Jadlow/author/B007F5H0H4

Potato Report

Potato Report

A few weeks ago I planted white potatoes in a plastic bin https://sallyjadlow.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=4966&action=edit . Soon after I planted them in my garden plot at church. Then we had a hard freeze. The poor little things died, even though I had them covered. The other day in the garage I found one potato plant that got left behind. It hadn’t sprouted yet. Now, here it comes. I guess, just like spring, hope springs eternal!

A Wedding Shower

A Wedding Shower

Keilah, my granddaughter will soon marry Weston. My daughters and I held a shower for her this past weekend. It was such a blessing to have the ladies of the family together again. The only male to attend was a year old great-grandson who slept through the whole thing.  At one point Keilah received a large box wrapped in a lovely table cloth. Being the designer she is, she immediately made a lovely creation from it.

A Word for Your Consideration

A Word for Your Consideration

God seems to be on the move. He is wakening many during the night, as with me also. Last July 29, He gave me a word I have pondered long and hard. Today, I’ll share it with you for your consideration. A Word from the Lord 7/29/22 12:30 a.m. My Child; Batten down the hatches for a great wind is coming. It will blow the chaff out from the wheat in order to put the wheat in My barns. A…

Jesus Revolution

Jesus Revolution

I never cease to marvel at God’s timing. February of this year the Holy Spirit descended on Asbury University in Wilmore, KY. Seventeen days later the Jesus Revolution movie came out and is presently playing in theaters and on ROKU.  It’s an account of the times of turmoil in the 60s and 70s and the Jesus movement which began in California. It’s the true story of Greg Laurie, pastor of Harvest Christian Fellowship, a church of 15,000.  From what I…

White Potatoes

White Potatoes

A few weeks ago I talked about growing sweet potatoes. They’re still sitting in the dirt, doing nothing. https://sallyjadlow.com/growing-sweet-potatoes/ I planted some white potatoes which had sprouted eyes at the same time. These little plants are going crazy. I had to put them in bigger containers. Potatoes aren’t supposed to be planted until St. Patrick’s Day in a couple of weeks. Hope these babies like the outdoor soil when I place them in my plot at Colonial Presbyterian’s God’s Garden. What…

Revival Fires Returning

Revival Fires Returning

At a regular chapel service at Asbury University in Wilmore, KY on February 8, 2023, the Spirit of God descended into the service. As of today, the service is still going on.  Students came this February for a regular chapel meeting, but afterward, people stayed on continuing to worship, praise, confess, and soak in the love of God present in the room. It has been reported that even though the wind blew strong in the area, there was a visible…

He’s Everywhere! He’s Everywhere!

He’s Everywhere! He’s Everywhere!

The fever continues! Tomorrow Kansas City will have a massive parade for the Super Bowl champions. The city has arranged for busses from throughout the city to bring people to the parade route. Stores are filled with Chief’s t-shirts at exorbitant prices. The fever I spoke of last week has spread. I found a life-sized cut-out of Patrick Mahomes in one of the offices I visit every week.  I think I’ll stay home from the parade and watch on TV….

Kansas City Has a Fever

Kansas City Has a Fever

It’s called Chief’s Fever. It makes all the buildings have red lights. People everywhere wear red red t-shirts to indicate their infection. Everyone is holding their breath for the Super Bowl next Sunday. People don’t seem to be especially ill, but it seems as though this fever has spread rapidly. People are even decorating cupcakes with red, white, and yellow. I’ve even eaten one that had Mahomes hair and headband on it.  Yes, it’s definitely infected Kansas City and the…
