This past weekend I attended The Oklahoma Writers Conference in Oklahoma City with some of my friends from Kansas City Writers Group. The last night’s banquet ends with awarding winners of the 36 category contest. Our group did well. We brought home around six awards. Granddaughter, Keilah married Weston last weekend. They make a lovely couple and a great pair. Finally tied the knot after seven years! Keilah is my eldest son’s eldest daughter. More weddings planned later this year. Our family tree seems to be sprouting branches everywhere! Keilah is a clothing designer. She had a hard time picking just one dress, so she wore one for photos before the wedding and another at the wedding.
Usually Amaryllis bloom at Easter. This year I didn’t get them out of the basement in time. Now they are going full blast. I think they look like little trumpets–as if to shout, “He (Jesus) is risen! The day before Easter I finished the pies and sweet potatoes by noon; two cherry, one apple, one key lime, one pecan, and one pecan black bottom. Then the only thing to do on Sunday was to make mashed potatoes, heat the ham, and make rolls and relish dishes. Other guests brought the rest. Hope you had a great Resurrection Day! A few weeks ago I planted white potatoes in a plastic bin https://sallyjadlow.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=4966&action=edit . Soon after I planted them in my garden plot at church. Then we had a hard freeze. The poor little things died, even though I had them covered. The other day in the garage I found one potato plant that got left behind. It hadn’t sprouted yet. Now, here it comes. I guess, just like spring, hope springs eternal!

Keilah, my granddaughter will soon marry Weston. My daughters and I held a shower for her this past weekend. It was such a blessing to have the ladies of the family together again. The only male to attend was a year old great-grandson who slept through the whole thing. At one point Keilah received a large box wrapped in a lovely table cloth. Being the designer she is, she immediately made a lovely creation from it.
God seems to be on the move. He is wakening many during the night, as with me also. Last July 29, He gave me a word I have pondered long and hard.
