Psalm 91

Psalm 91

Psalm 91 is known as the Soldier’s Psalm. There are many accounts online attesting to the power of this psalm. Here is one account you might have not have heard from just after WW II found at https://www.magnoliabannernews.com/news/2018/nov/02/psalm-91-gods-shield-protection/#:~:text=I%20will%20say%20of%20the,be%20thy%20shield%20and%20buckler.. “After the war, Secretary of War Henry L. Stimson sent Rickenbacker on a tour of air bases in the Pacific Theater of Operations. He was provided an older B-17D Flying Fortress. The B-17 left Hawaii and strayed hundreds of miles off course…

Strong Towers

Strong Towers

When I visited Ireland I saw strong, stone towers somewhat similar to the one above. Proverbs 18:10 says, The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous runs into it and is safe. When Vikings came to wipe out a settlement, the citizens ran into these towers. Today, we have the name of Jesus as our strong tower. Are you trusting Him for His protection?   My books are available at https://www.amazon.com/-/e/B007F5H0H4

The Chosen

The Chosen

https://youtu.be/q6sHNLmYbAM?list=PLgn4viMGbbmDEw-R3MoYRYuRlmsgxd2A3   There is an excellent new video out for free on YouTube. You can also get the app on your phone or tablet and cast it to your TV. There are eight episodes in the first season with eight seasons planned. If you haven’t seen it I would highly recommend it. The first episode I found a little hard to follow because they were introducing the main characters, but by the second  episode it was much easier to follow….

Expiration Date

Expiration Date

Expiration Date We each have an expiration date stamped in an unseen spot. The date is known only to our Creator. He knows those who’ll spend eternity with Him and those who will not. You see, we’ll all live forever. It’s up to us to choose the spot. Choose Jesus as your ruler to view eternity from heaven. Otherwise, you’ll live forever where it’s dark and hot.

Listen to God’s Prophets and Succeed

Listen to God’s Prophets and Succeed

Today we find all kinds of crazy stuff on the internet in our inboxes. This guy is the real deal. He is a true prophet of God. He posts prayers every day for us to pray together and a great source of hope. God is still in the business of the impossible. The Bible has an account of when king Jehoshaphat was facing an enemy. 2 Chron. 20:20 They rose early in the morning and went out to the wilderness…

A New Look for an Old Room

A New Look for an Old Room

In over 51 years, this room has morphed from a child’s bedroom, to a sewing room, craft room to a computer room. It finally ended up as a catch-all pit. Can you tell? Now it’s time to make it a library. Recently I stumbled across some great shelves at an estate sale. With the expert help of family members, I managed to get them home. Now I had to get rid of the old computer station. Rather than hauling it…

An Inspiring Read

An Inspiring Read

In digging through my old books I ran across Rees Howells Intercessor by Norman Grubb. I hadn’t read it in over forty years so I decided to give it another reading. It’s about a Welsh coal miner in the first half of the 20th century who gave himself to the Lord without reservation. He lived a life touching many from Wales to Africa, to untold thousands around the world. In his later life he established a Christian college in Wales and…

Writer’s Withdrawal

Writer’s Withdrawal

Our lives have taken unexpected turns since the shutdown from Covid 19. We no longer worship together–we worship online, perhaps for most of the summer. Friends can’t gather without social distancing. Bible studies, critique groups, and other meetings are conducted on Zoom. Shops that open require face masks and six-foot separations. All the conferences and speaking engagements on my calendar have a red mark through them. I happened to discover a real live writer’s conference that will be held from Kentucky…

Oslo, Norway

Oslo, Norway

July 8th we spent at sea from Southampton, England headed for Oslo, Norway. Our ship had an ice rink so our first order of business–the ice show. We had sunny weather and 60 degrees, but on the water it felt too cool to stay pool-side for very long, so indoor activities were the choice for the day. Four thousand passengers and twelve hundred crew members from fifty-five countries cruised until about 10 a.m. on July 9th aboard the Royal Caribbean’s…
