God’s Promise for Wayward Ones

God’s Promise for Wayward Ones

Do you have people that are near your heart but very far from God? His word is full of promises if we will fulfill His conditions.

The Holy Spirit recently took me on what I call a gold mining trip. It’s when you’re made aware of a scripture and it seems God wrote that verse just for you. You have to dig out each word from the original Hebrew or Greek to see the full meaning of the words.

I use blueletterbible.com and use the Strong’s tab to take me to it’s original meaning, after I’ve typed in a scripture and selected either the King James or New American Standard Bible.

Isaiah 42:16 is the scripture I want to share with you today.

“And I will lead the blind by a way they do not know,
In paths they do not know I will guide them.
I will make darkness into light before them
And rugged places into plains.
These are the things I will do,
And I will not leave them undone.” (NASB)

God tells us in this scripture what He will do, so to understand it more clearly, I made a list. Then on the words with numbers after them in the blueletterbible.com site I click the numbers to take me to the original Greek or Hebrew meanings. If you want to hear how this foreign words sounds, click the little microphone symbol to hear it.

So here are the things the Lord promises He will do:

  1. Lead the blind
  2. Guide them in ways and paths they don’t know

Guide=da-rak’
tread; bend; lead; march; to bend a bow with the foot

Ways=deh’rek
way; road; distance; journey; manner; course of life (fig.); of moral character (fig.)

Know=ya dah’
to know; learn to know; to perceive’ find out and discern’ to know by experience; to recognize, admit, acknowledge, confess; to consider; to know how; be skillful in; to have knowledge; be wise; to be instructed

  1. Make darkness into light before them.

Light=’owr
light of day; light of lamp; light of life; light of prosperity; light of instruction; light of face (fig.)

  1. Make rugged places into plains

Rugged=ma ‘aqash
crooked place; twisted; crooked things; a crook in the road

Plains=me shore’
level place; uprightness; a level, a plain

  1. He will not leave them undone

Leave and Undone are the same word. It’s a zar’.

to loose; forsake; to leave behind; leave; let alone; abandon; forsake; neglect; apostatize; to let loose; set free; let go, free; to be forsaken; to be deserted; to restore, to repair

The Almighty God, our God, is faithful. What he has said, He will do. Take Him at this word. It doesn’t matter how far your loved one is from God. Your loved ones’ arms are too short to box with the Almighty. Wait upon the Lord (to wait, look for, hope, expect, look eagerly for) (Isaiah 40:31) KJV for He is at work behind the scenes.

Lord Jesus, I lift the blind ones to You that You’ve laid on my heart. Make them to see as You have promised. I look eagerly for You to perform that which You have promised in Your word. Thank you for hearing and answering this prayer.
