Another Picture Prompt
As I explained last week, I use picture prompts in creative writing classes to spark ideas for a 10 minute writing prompt. This short short story is one I wrote in class this fall. Whether you consider yourself a writer or not, you might find it fun to pick a picture and write for 10 minutes to see what appears on the page.
Hmmm. I had a glitch in my system this morning. Here is the story that should appear with this picture!
Bush Beard
“I really don’t know why you don’t want to go to the dance with me,” Eric said as he shifted from one foot to the other.
Dana took a deep breath and exhaled. She didn’t want to hurt his feelings but that bush beard made him look like a grizzly bear ready for hibernation. The thought of spending an evening with him in public made a shiver go up her spine.
“Eric, I . . . I can’t go with you.”
He stiffened. “Why not?”
Should she make up an excuse? None came to mind, so she blurted out, “’Cause I don’t want to!”
His face fell as he turned and mumbled, “Okay then. See ya.”
My latest book, Joshua’s Journey: One Boy’s Victory Over Allergies is available here on Amazon.com. All my books are available in Kindle and paperback. The Miracle Books are also available in audible.

Ouch! That poor guy. She could have at least told him why. Maybe you could edit her. LOL
Maybe we could spend longer than 10 minutes on it for a better outcome!
That would work, provided he hasn’t walked away.
