How to be Saved

How to be Saved

Acts 16:31
And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you shall be saved, you and your household.”

Sometimes we wonder why bad things happen. When we belong to Jesus, everything has a purpose—even being thrown in jail.

Paul and Silas had been brought before magistrates for the “sin” of being Jewish. By this time all Jews had been thrown out of Rome and its territories. Philippi was a Roman outpost.

After being beaten with rods, they were thrown into the inmost prison. About midnight while they sang and praised God, there was an earthquake. All the prison doors opened.

The jailer, sure all his prisoners had escaped, prepared to kill himself. Death would be his fate when the officials learned he lost his prisoners. Paul quickly called out that they were all still there.

The man fell down before Paul and Silas and asked what he needed to do to be saved. They responded with the above scripture. That night the jailer and his whole household believed in Jesus and were baptized.

When the sun came up, the magistrates learned their prisoners were Roman citizens. The officials authorized their release and begged them to leave the city quietly because it was illegal to beat a Roman citizen.

Lord Jesus, help me keep my eyes on You
rather than the circumstances
when dark days appear.

  1. God tells us Sally that He does also not willingly afflict us or does He plan evil to bring good out of it, the Scriptures tell us to say this is slander even about Believers but He knows we will have hardship and suffering and gives us the Strength to endure it and He assures us as we can see in the Scripture below that He is always with us regardless of what Life and Satan brings and He also works everything out for good in our lives and this was the same with all the Disciples and with Paul as you shared in your message.

Lamentations 3: 33 For God doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the Children of Men

Isaiah 43:1-3 – Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you I have called you by name you are mine. When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression you will not be burned up the flames will not consume you. For I am the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Saviour.”

Some believe that everything that happens good and bad is planed by God but I will share a few of the evils I have endured in my life that show very clearly that God did not willingly allow or plan them.

I was bashed and abandoned by my birth Mother and Molested 5 times from the age of 3 than raped by the Doctor who aborted my Baby when I was not yet 15 and was also badly abused Physically and emotionally as a young pregnant wife and during my other pregnancies too and I lost 6 more babies.

Jeremiah 29 :11-12 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of Peace and not of evil, to give you a Future and a Hope.

If God were to stop all the evil in this World, He would have to stop the World as He did with the World wide flood and yes The Holy Spirit will be removed soon and than Mankind without restraint will than destroy all God’s Creation but we will be Raptured first or as called in Revelation the First Sickle will happen. Jesus tells us to watch for the signs of His coming and that we are the Generation that will see Him return..
