Pentecost
John 14:26
(Jesus said) “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.”
Jesus knew His time on earth was drawing to a close when He spoke these words. He still had more to teach His disciples. He knew they would need to be reminded of what He had already taught them.
Then there were new believers who had not yet heard Him teach and had not seen Him heal. These believers would need His presence as well.
On the day of Pentecost, fifty days after His resurrection, God poured out the Holy Spirit on believers. That event started quite a stir among the witnesses to this event.
His Holy Spirit has been here every since to convict people of sin, righteousness, and judgment; to bring comfort and give guidance. The Holy Spirit pleads for us before God’s throne.
Praise You Jesus. You have not left us without comfort.
I invite the Holy Spirit to abide within me
to give me the power to act as Your agent, Jesus,
here on earth until You return.

Beautiful! It gives such joy to think on that first Pentecost. It gives such anticipation to think about what God may do next. He delights to delight His children.
I’m on the edge of my seat!
