What A Difference A Day Makes
On ordinary days, one day melts into another. Then, in a 24 hour period, the world dumps up-side-down.
This picture showed up on my computer from seven years ago the other day. This was a colt that had been born the summer before. Life was in the normal mode. Then things flipped.
On the next St. Patrick’s Day the PET scans showed my husband had stage 4 metastatic lung cancer. That horrible disease and spread all through him. Within six weeks he was dead.
Now, I had to figure out what to do with this unbroken colt who constantly got into so much trouble. One day I found him tangled in a pole gate. He’d tried to jump the fence and missed. The horses were my husband’s territory. Not mine. I ended up selling the horse to someone who would break him and make him a useful animal.
Funny how one glance at a photo brings back a rush of memories.
