Blackberries make wonderful pies. The only drawback, they’re ready to pick in the hottest months of the year! I went to the blackberry patch in Louisburg, KS last week when it was only 80 degrees at 8:00 a.m. As you can see, there will be a lot more soon. I spent a rare cool morning for this part of the country at a blackberry patch in Louisburg, KS this past week. After two hours I had about seven quarts of berries.
