At first glance, you may think this is a sample of the Dead Sea Scrolls, but it’s not. My husband pulled this ratty piece of paper from his old coat pocket the other day.

“Is this your handwriting?”

I squinted at it and said, “I don’t recognize it as anyone I know. Where did you get it?”

“Out of my pocket,” he said with a shrug.

It took me a couple of hours to decipher the scribble through the cracks in the folded paper. He must have eaten this somewhere and asked the cook for the recipe. I’ll make it one of these cold evenings to see if his taster remembers where the recipe came from.
