Jesus and His Bride
Hosea 2:19
(God says) “And I will betroth you to Me forever; yes I will betroth you to Me in righteousness and in justice, in lovingkindness and in compassion . . .”
Before we come to Jesus we are like Hosea’s wife. We have gone far from God. We play the harlot as we look to other things to fill the place only God can occupy.
Here, He promises to betroth us to Him and Him alone. He says He will betroth us to Him in righteousness. That word righteousness has to do with redemption. Redemption in the Bible is “to buy back from the slave market.”
Before Jesus becomes Lord over our lives, we are as helpless as a slave on the auction block. Jesus paid His own blood in order to buy us back. We need to come back to Him with our whole heart. We need to make Him number one in our lives.
Lord Jesus, forgive us for our harlotries.
Cause us to be of one heart and mind with You.
May You fill our hearts with Yourself
so we may be Yours, body, mind, and spirit.

Beautiful devotion, reminding us of true allegiance to Christ. He alone is worthy to hold first place in our lives. I am blessed by your clear and precise biblical devotions focused on our LORD.
