God’s Gift
I Peter 2:24
And He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness, for by His wounds you were healed.
Jesus took the punishment for our wrongdoing that we might share in the inheritance of God. That we might walk blameless before Him. That we might be healed of the infirmities we experience in our bodies—our mind, soul and spirit.
He came to heal that which is broken. He came in order to be fastened to a cross so that we could be released from that which binds us to wrong thoughts, words, and actions.
He came to bleed and die for us that we might be welcomed into God’s own family as His own sons and daughters.
Jesus death and resurrection is a gift to us. It does no good until we receive it.
Lord Jesus, thank You for Your obedience
to hang on the cross for me.
Through Your sacrifice I am set free
from wrong actions, thoughts, and deeds.
One day may I hear You say, “Not guilty.”
