So What’s Wrong with Crystals?
Every few years the fad of crystals comes around again. I spoke to someone recently who wanted to know more about their healing qualities.
I’ll not debate the pros and cons of crystals. The problem lies with the place given them in our hearts. Jesus Christ is our healer. He was whipped with a cat-o-nine tails that we can be healed. (By His stripes we have been healed-1 Peter 2:24.)
In Isaiah 42:8 God says, “I will not give My glory to another, nor my praise to graven images.”
If we believe a created thing has healed us and we give glory and serve that thing rather than God who created all things, we are sinning against God. The first chapter of Romans addresses this error.
For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened (Romans 1:21.)
They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator–who is forever praised. (Romans 1:25.)
