Psalm 27:1
The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the defense of my life; whom shall I dread?

The Lord is my light, my instruction. He rescues me. He is my place of safety, my victory. The existing One, the God who created the universe, is for me. I have no reason to be in dread of anything.

He delivers me. He is my protector, my stronghold, my safe harbor. He takes a personal interest in everything that concerns me. He cares for me.

He is all-powerful and sees all. Nothing escapes His notice. He is for me. I am His and He is mine.

He has overcome the enemy. Nothing can happen to me that has not gone through His hand first. Even when bad things happen, He has allowed those things to work for His glory. I rejoice in His constant care.

Lord Jesus, who am I to receive such tender care
and steady watchfulness?
Thank You for Your merciful heart
and guiding light, shed on my path
night and day.
