God’s Conditions
The Bible is full of God’s promises. Usually His promises are connected to a condition. “If you’ll do this, I’ll do this,” He says.
Hebrews 11:6 says, “ . . . he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.”
So the conditions God sets are:
1. You have to come to Him,
2. you must offer Him your faith, no matter how small it is,
3. and to know, depend on, trust in the fact, that He rewards those who seek Him.
That word “seek” here in Greek means “to search for, seek out, investigate, scrutinize, to seek out for one’s self, beg, crave.” So it’s not just a casual asking. It’s an all-out, go-for broke, seeking Him. Not seeking a healing. Not desiring Him the answer to your prayer. It’s a seeking to know Him. A desire to hear His voice. A longing for a relationship with the Living God.
He says if we will seek His kingdom and His righteousness, all these things will be added unto us (Matthew 6:33).
How does one do that? By coming to Him in prayer. His name is Jesus. Call out to Him. He hears even the whisper of His name. He’s waiting to hear you call.
