Fresh Revelation
God Gave us some commands for us to live by. They are commonly called the Ten Commandments. They are recorded for us in Exodus 20: 2-17 and Deuteronomy 5:6-21. The very first one is “Thou shalt have no other gods before Me.” That’s because only He is worthy of our worship.
In our society today, it is considered very desirable to have objects in our homes that represent other gods–like Buddhas. When I thought about it, that goes against what God said twice in His word.
In comparison, how would your husband or wife feel if you displayed an old boyfriend, or a popular movie star’s picture on your mantle?
Even if you don’t worship that idol it still gives an appearance of evil, which we are cautioned against in 1 Thessalonians 5:22.
Perhaps it’s time to do a house cleaning. Ask God if you are displaying anything in your home or life that displeases Him.
As a P.S., I’ll share a poem I wrote almost 50 years ago about Buddha, Hinduism, and Jesus, the Living God.
God bless the Buddhists, for he’s still in his grave.
God bless the Hindus, for how does that save?
God bless all those who don’t know or don’t believe
all the wonderful things You have up Your sleeve.
