Birthday Turtles
Two great grandbabies had their first birthday party the other day. When my kids were little I made them a turtle cake every year from a pyrex mixing bowl and cupcakes. This year, I had to make two, since these are twins.
Thank goodness they had others cute little cakes to tear into in their highchairs. We ate these. Did you ever make fun cakes for your kids?

I used to bake cakes for the kids birthdays, too. No turtles, though. A few weeks ago I made a construction site birthday cake for a boy who loves the big machines: bulldozers, earth movers, dump trucks, any big machine that makes noise.
I’d love to see a picture. Sounds fun!
I made a cake for Caleb with a licorice road and tiny cars racing on it. We also made turtle bread together – easy with different sizes of rolled dough.
Hummm. We called that monkey bread out of cinnamon roll dough!
